What goes into the cup

Use invoice prices as paid. Only tick a GST credit box if the tax is included and fully recoverable.

GST credits on purchases

Leave unticked for GST-free purchases, purchases with no credit, or prices already net of credit. Check your invoice and your tax position.

Waste you’ve measured

Add extra ingredient use beyond the drink recipe, averaged per cup sold. Enter 0 if you have not measured it yet.

MAKE THE RESULT USEFUL

Three checks for your next shift.

  1. Check the real dose.Weigh several shots, then compare average grams used with your recipe.
  2. Measure the leftovers.Track dial-in, jug milk and remakes for a week; divide by cups sold.
  3. Revisit the other costs.Add labour, rent, card fees and overheads in your own accounts before deciding on price.

How this works. Sale contribution = sale price excluding any selected GST, less the effective cost of beans, milk and packaging, including the measured waste entered. A selected purchase GST credit removes 1/11 of that input’s invoice price. The comparison changes the entered price, reduces only measured waste, and applies your assumed volume change. Figures are estimates, rounded for display; calculations use unrounded values. This is a decision aid, not tax or accounting advice. Check your GST position with your adviser.
